Your little one has arrived, and this beautifully fleeting stage passes far too quickly. Let’s capture your family together while they are still so tiny, with siblings very welcome too. These first photographs are incredibly special and can be booked during your pregnancy. Newborn sessions are limited, so I recommend enquiring as early as possible to avoid disappointment. A maternity session can also be booked alongside your newborn photoshoot if you wish.

There are two location options for your newborn session, both designed to be calm, relaxed, and completely led by you and your baby.

1. Studio Session – East Grinstead (RH19 2DR) - Held in my studio, these sessions are natural and relaxed, with a slightly more posed and styled feel. They are unhurried and baby-led, allowing time for cuddles, feeds, and settling as needed, while creating timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.

2. At Home Lifestyle Session - At home sessions are gentle, storytelling-style photography, focused on capturing your baby naturally in their new surroundings. We document your family just as you are - your connection, the quiet in-between moments, and all the beautiful little details that make this chapter uniquely yours.

Whichever option you choose, your session will be calm, flexible, and shaped around your baby’s needs. If you need to pause for feeds, cuddles, or even a cup of tea, that’s always welcome. As a mum of two little boys, I truly understand how precious, and how tiring, the newborn phase can be. I’ll do everything I can to ensure your baby’s first photoshoot is a comfortable and beautifully memorable experience.

Newborn sessions are best booked during pregnancy to ensure availability. We pencil in a session date around your due date, which can be adjusted once your baby arrives to suit their timing. The ideal time to photograph your baby is within the first 10 days, while they are still very small and sleepy, although sessions can take place within the first month after birth.

To secure your session, a non-refundable booking retainer of £100 is required. This will be deducted from your total package price, with the remaining balance due 48 hours before your session. Travel is included within 20 miles of East Grinstead. A surcharge may apply for locations beyond this distance.

1. Where are your newborn photography sessions held?

I offer two options for newborn sessions; Studio sessions in my East Grinstead studio (RH19 2DR) for posed and styled images, and Lifestyle sessions at home for natural, storytelling-style photography. Both are calm, relaxed, and fully led by you and your baby. In the studio, I can even make you a cup of tea and you can take a sit-down and relax whenever you need - we go at your baby’s pace, with plenty of breaks for feeds, cuddles, and settling.

2. When should I book my newborn session?

It’s best to book during your pregnancy to secure your preferred date. We pencil in a session around your due date, which can be adjusted once your baby arrives. Studio sessions are ideally photographed within the first 10–14 days, while your baby is still small and sleepy, though sessions can take place within the first month.

3. What is the difference between studio and lifestyle newborn sessions?

Studio sessions are held in my calm East Grinstead studio and have a slightly more posed, timeless feel, while remaining gentle, flexible, and baby-led. Lifestyle sessions take place at home, capturing your family naturally in their surroundings, documenting quiet moments, connections, and the small details that make this chapter unique. Both session types are safe, relaxed, and designed around your baby’s needs.

4. How far do you travel for newborn sessions?

Studio sessions are held at my East Grinstead studio. For lifestyle newborn sessions at home, I travel across the South East of England, including West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. Travel within 20 miles of East Grinstead is included; a small surcharge may apply for locations beyond this.

5. How should we prepare for our newborn session?

There’s no need to worry - I’ve been there as a mum of two little boys. Your baby may be hungry, sleepy, fussy, and you may be tired and teary - it’s all completely normal! For studio sessions, it helps if your baby is fed and rested beforehand, but we work around your baby’s needs. For lifestyle sessions at home, we can discuss what will help the session feel calm and relaxed. My priority is that both you and your baby feel comfortable, safe, and supported throughout.

6. What should we bring to the session?

For studio sessions, I provide blankets, and props for posed newborn photography. For lifestyle sessions, you may want to include personal items, outfits, or meaningful props, but I’m happy to advise on what works best for natural, authentic images. Everything is set up to make it as easy and stress-free for you as possible.

7. What if I need to rearrange our session?

I completely understand that life with la newborn can be unpredictable - sniffles, or last-minute changes happen! If you need to rearrange your session, please let me know as early as possible and we’ll find a new date that works. Unfortunately, if you do not notify me and don’t attend the session, I will need to keep your non-refundable booking retainer.

8. Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes! I offer photography gift vouchers for all my sessions, including newborn photography, family photography, and Life Stories experiences. They make the perfect baby shower gift, birthday present, or thoughtful surprise for family and friends. Once payment is received, the voucher can be sent via email in a printable format, ready to gift immediately. You can also include a personalised message if you wish.

8. When will we receive our newborn images?

Your newborn photography gallery will be available within two weeks via a private online gallery. You’ll select your favourite images, which will then be professionally edited and delivered as high-resolution digital files via secure download.
